Comedy Bio

After obtaining academic degrees in Cognitive Science and then Law, David Raitt decided he couldn't be serious for a living and turned to comedy. He has since become an accomplished writer and performer of sketch comedy and improvisation. He is an alumnus of The Second City's Canadian National Touring Company, and has worked as a member of the Mainstage ensemble. To date he has performed in eleven Second City revues, on the Toronto Mainstage, at theatres and events all over Canada, and on Norwegian Cruise Lines.

He has also written, produced and performed his own sketch comedy, including his shows Workaholics: Scenes from the White-Collar Grind, ALL THE RAGE (nominated for a 2008 Canadian Comedy Award), and Between Commutes. He has also written customized sketch material for business presentations, conferences and fundraisers, in addition to serving as Master of Ceremonies for a number of public functions.

Dave is semi-retired from performing, but still teaches improv and communications skills to students and corporate groups through his association with The Second City. He also works as a technical writer for an Internet marketing firm.

Dave has two children, and thanks his family for everything and every day.
